The Jackalope Stash Story
Our Story
Raised in St. Marys, Ohio, Jay and Nikki Shannon have always had a strong desire to contribute to the development and revitalization of Downtown St.Marys. While traveling, Jay noticed the love people shared for boutiques and gift shops. He wanted to evoke this emotion within his own community. Thus, the men’s fashion store, Jackalope Stash began to establish. The Shannon’s selected a space downtown to renovate and turn into St. Mary’s very own mens fashion retail store. Jackalope Stash covers a niche that is not being served anywhere near this great city.
We do this to serve our community through providing quality products and customer service. We are Jackalope Stash.
With such a unique name, comes a unique story. After realizing the need for a men's retail store in St. Marys, Jay began searching for the perfect name. During a trip to Gatlinburg, Jay was able to convince Nikki that Jackalopes were real animals. After she found out it was a prank, they purchased a small stuffed animal of a Jackalope to remember this moment. This stuffed Jackalope now always seems to find its way in a suitcase and at their hotels on all of their vacations. This mythical animal started as an inside joke within the Shannon family, but now serves as the name of their business.
